SJTM is a spiritual and culturally grounded community for Black women, especially those 60 and older, who are seeking connection, purpose, and healing. We welcome those who are postmenopausal, spiritually curious, artistically inclined, and open to communal growth and transformation.
While SJTM is spiritually guided, we are not affiliated with any formal religion. Our work is rooted in ancestral reverence, ritual practice, and the sacred principles of Sankofa (looking back to move forward) and Aṣẹ (the power to make things happen). We honor all spiritual paths that center love, healing, and liberation.
We are a trauma-informed community space, but we are not licensed mental health professionals. Our offerings support emotional and spiritual wellness through creative expression, ritual, and community-building. For acute trauma or mental health needs, we recommend seeking care from a qualified provider.
This sacred journey celebrates elderhood as a time of power, reflection, and renewal. Participants engage in group discussions, healing rituals, personal storytelling, and creative projects that affirm identity and honor legacy. The experience culminates in a meaningful community ceremony.
We invite women interested in co-housing and elder communal living models to attend our informational gatherings and workshops. We are currently in the visioning and planning phase for an intentional community in Northern California. Contact us to learn more or join a session.
Our core offerings are designed specifically for Black women 60+, but we welcome intergenerational engagement during select events, excursions, and storytelling projects. These moments foster legacy-building and community continuity.
